ok, now i believe it's time for another update. right, so yesterday Rob and I were gonna meet for coffee after our lecture. in the lecture, everybody kept hugging me and wishing me a happy birthday :D which was great, and Rob sat next to Tim and heard all the goings on and wished me a happy b'day too. ooh, and of course, there was talk about my party on Saturday and stuff. so i asked Rob what he's doing on the weekend - turns out he's going to Port Elliott - but we'll get back to that.
anyway, so we talked for a bit, then had the lecture etc. however, after the lec, he had to run off, but we did exchange phone numbers...
then this morning i got a text from him saying he'd be at uni and did i want to meet for coffee? so we decided to meet at 12:30 at the law cafe. now, my lec goes, technically, from 11-1, but we always finish early, usually around 12. but of course, today it goes for longer and goes over time (we had speeches to present and nobody stuck to the 5 minute time frame). so about 12:20 i txted him, asked if we could change the time to 1, but he had a lec from 1-4. so i decided to skip the rest of my lec - it was boring anyway, and my group had already done the presentation - and go meet him for coffee :D it was great! he bought me the coffee and we talked and it was good, no weird silences or anything like that. didn't get to talk as much as we wanted cos he had a lec, but, meh... oh, yeah, and he mentioned that on Sat they may be coming into town to see some guy at a concert or something - i didn't recognize the singer, but that doesn't mean anything, we all know how up to date i am on pop-culture, lol - anyway, there is a chance that he may drop into my party on Saturday...
that pretty much sums it up... yeah...
very excited about my party, can't wait - and yes, i bought a dress, shock-horror. a green one. gotta take lotsa photos (if my camera works, batteries have been weird, very short life). and that's my story..for now, gotta try to get this assignment done - i'm procrastinating, but hey, who doesn't?

ok, decided to finally post another entry - according to the livejournal thingo, it's been like, 43 weeks - that's almost a year!! so, anyway, what's changed since last time i updated? like, everything! i'm now a sleep technician at sleepsa, and am loving my job! so different to spotless, the people i work with are great! and it's actually a fun job to go to, which is a change.
also, i've moved house. which i'm loving, i'm so close to the city now, only a ten minute drive, or about a $14/15 cab fare! and i'm so close to all of my friends and work, uni, everything!
and loads of other stuff, but the most exciting at the mo... i've met a boy! :) well, a man actually. but anyway, his name is Robert, and he is 26 and does the same course as me at uni. a few weeks ago i asked timmy if he could introduce us, then about a week ago, apparently Robert asked him the same thing. so i tried to introduce myself to him at a lecture or something, but that didn't really work. but anyway, yesterday i was at uni working on an assignment (and i'm not usually in on Fridays) when he walked into the computer lab. anyway, to cut a long story short, as i was leaving, i asked him if he wanted to meet for coffee - so we're meeting next wednesday for coffee :D
and that's my story, for now. my 21st party is this saturday coming so no doubt i'll have lots to say after that one...

the strangest thing just happened... i was going through all the sites i usually visit and realised i'd read the latest gear and generally there was nothing to do, kinda boring. but then, when asked whether i was just bored at the moment, or of life at the moment, i realised that i was bored of both. which is a bit surprising, that i hadn't thought of that before... meh, just a thought...

ncis season 4 starts in the US next sat, and i can't wait! as soon as it's uploaded, i'm downloading it! the trailer looks so good and gibbs has changed a lot (his appearance and probably his personality) and i think ziva leaves **jumps for joy***

anyway, that's my story, i think i mite read some of my book and try to go to bed. gotta get up at a reasonable time tomoro, got the footy :D should be a good match!

that reminds me...at cadets on wednesday, they were playing with the radios, and navigating and stuff, a few need a bit of practise, but they'll shape up. they always do, the cadets that've moved up are doing really well. it's strange thinking of them as fire fighters now...they were cadets for so long... **my boys are growing up..**

ok, so i've been *ordered* to update my leroy jethro, and i suppose it's about time that i did. but i have been meaning to update it for a while now, honest, ever since that call-out about a month ago...
that call out was great! gotta be in the top 3 that i've been to... nothing beats the mva where the back-half of one of the cars had come off and was literally 30 metres or so from the car, in somebody's backyard..yeah, that was good, although it was kinda cold and it was in the middle of the morning, *early* morning - around 0200 - and we ended up staying out there for about 5 hours, but then, who's counting?
anyway, back to hte one that happened a few weeks ago. after receiving the page for the house fire, i quickly made my way to the station, getting there just as the truck was pulling out. i got on the back and changed on the way there. as we drove towards the location, we could see the smoke from ...well, one of the guys said he'd seen it from where he worked, which waws miles away. turned out the whole top level of this house was fully involved. we quickly got to work, i put on a BA set and prepared to enter the place. it was such a blast, it was the first structure fire i've been to where the fire has still been going and i've got to go insdie using BA. anyway, we went in and used the stairs to get to the third floor, which was covered in smoke. the neutral plane was about at my waist, which is pretty bad, increased risk of a flash over...anyway, after a while we started pulling the ceiling down. *grin* i pulled down the whole ceiling in one of the rooms :D and then...my partners air was running out so we had to leave the MFS guys up there whilst we got new cylinders. the rest was pretty boring...we didn't get to go back inside till the fire was out, and we were salvaging the rest of the gear in there... but i have to mention that we had to call SES to do some more salvage work and strengthening the structure or something. i later found out that the fire was caused by an electric blanket...
ok, so other stuff. done exams, they were okay, passed all the topics :D. uni's back again and this time, i'm gonna *do* the readings and *listen* in lectures. so far, i'm suceeding. also a week or two ago, i was seriously thinking of joining the defense force, i even visited the RAAF base in Edinbrugh. which wsa fantastic, it gave me some insight into the job i was looking at, however i decided not to pursue the job...so now i'm looking at being a leo (not the starsign) probably at federal level...
not much else i can think of adding, so for now, that's it

I'm really happy - which is a change from last week - but, everything being equal, i'm really happy. Yesterday after work, a few friends of mine from high school - whom i happen to work with... - and i went out for a drink. It was great! I've seen my friends at work and we get to chat and everything, but sitting down and having a proper discussion with them without being interrupted by our boss, or having to continue working, is just so much better. After the pub, we all went to the pancake kitchen and stayed there talking for about three hours :D
And then just today, i've finished the last of my assignments. i'm on a roll ;)
Oh yeah, and i was promoted today, lol. well, not in the strict sense of the word, but i was in a kinda strange way ;)
And even the strange event last night - being followed by two dodgey men - isn't getting me down or anything. actually, i was kinda impressed by my observation skills. so, naturally on the way home i was thinking of scenarios in which i fought against the two blokes and saved my friend :$ well, let's be honest, who doesn't? well, i hope it isn't just me... :$ but then, i know i'm strange
and next week, i'm going away - not far - for a few days. time-out is fun and cool, even if i do plan to study...at least for some of the time... :D
and now i can't think of anything else to say, i'm just .. happy.

so, i should probably update my 'leroy jethro', but i have no idea what to write. usually when i want to write something, especially to start an essay or somehting, i usually grab a notepad and get as far away from my comp as i can to start it. and it usually works :D my comp is just one big distraction. now that we have broadband, i'm constantly online, which is good and bad. but if i need to research something online, then i get distracted by other sites, and suddenly three hours later, i realise i haven't done any research because i've been surfing the net (how cool would it be to literally do that...) or reading fanfic... and then before, when we just had dial-up, or i'm not on the net, i still get distracted. as soon as i open word, i open a fic that i'm in the middle of...not to mention all the eps that are currently stored on my comp...and then there's minesweeper - which i've managed to stay away from, prob cos i've got the net....
and talking about working... i've almost finished my assignments, :D but hten i gotta think about exams :S....but then..holidays :D holidays are cool. i have no idea what i'm going to do. i was thinking of visiting some friends in new south wales, but i'm prob not gonna have enough money to go there. oh, yeah, and my car
my car is fubar. on mon the car overheated, and lost a lot of coolent. like, a LOT of it, it was all over the road. had to call out the RAA, who filled it up with water, 4 LITRES of it! the cars never done that before. so dad had a look at it when we got hom and eventually found that i'd burst a pipe. it took ages to get the damn thing off cos we had to drain the water. we did that from another hose, which we later found was too big for the place it was in, but we managed to rectify that. then we got the burst hose off and replaced it with another.
then as we were looking under the bonnet, dad found out why my car stinks of fuel. another hose, really small one, was soaked through with fuel. so we had to replace that, but in doing that, we punctuared the other fuel hose below it. so we had to replace that as well, but we didn't have another hose the same size. anyway, dad went to the garage and bought some hoses to replace the shoddy ones, but they told him that the original one that burst wasn't on my car. like, they looked through the manual and it's not supposed to be there. so dad has my car again today to try to replace that hose. in any case, the fuel leak is now gone, and the water hoses should be fine by the time i get back from work tonight.
oh, and another thing that's fubar is my comp. the other day, it suddenly decided not to give me sound anymore. i tried everything and still, no sound. then my bro looked at it, and found that it had been muted. i didn't even know the comp could be muted, let alone HOW to do it. so i got the sound back, but then msn decided it wouldn't work. so for at least three days i had to use the old version of msn whilst the newest one was unavailable. but eventaully on mon it started working again.... then, yesterday, i opened an email and gave my comp a virus, it hasn't effected my comp in terms of how well it works, but apparently it sends info back to the person who made it on the sites i visit and stuff. so, no internet banking for me...not that i did it anyway... but that should be fixed pretty soon...
so, anyways, things are looking on the up and up....things only happen in three's right? so, maybe one more thing will go wrong with my car - but lets not jinx it....my comp should be fine and my assignments and study stuff will be fine :D

My computer is so annoying. It's running like, a hundred times slower than it used to. It's going so slow, I swear it's gonna stop. Thankfully help is on the way, I bought Norton Antivirus the other day and have just installed it...it found a trojan, and around 9 adware/whatever ware things. And soon, it should be all better... :)
